Can I turn off the tuner even if there is a recording scheduled?

If you use the built in scheduling system of our net-tv transmitter you can turn the tuner off. The net-tv will detect if it is off and will try to turn it on before the recording starts. If you are using a tuner with built in hdd recording, please check the manual of your tuner.



My family will stay at home and I will be connecting to the transmitter from abroad. Can I watch different channels?

It depends if you are using the same tuner or separate TV tuners. If you are using separate tuner, you can watch different channels, if you plugged the transmitter to the same tuner your family is using at home you will both watch the same channel.



Can I plug the transmitter to my cable TV/satellite TV tuner?

If your TV tuner has composite output (yellow, red, white plugs) you can use it with our transmitter.



What is the image quality like?

It depends on the Internet connection you have on the transmitter and on the receiving end. It also depends on the Internet connection between both networks. The transmitter uses H.264 codification that will provide good image quality even with low bit rates. The quality perception depends on the size of the screen on a smartphone screen 0.5mbps is good enough. For a big TV a 2MB connection will provide a reasonable quality



I don't want to use the transmitter to watch the TV abroad, but to watch the TV and security camera in a different room or when I am on the train. Is this possible?

Yes, you can use our free software or the receiver to watch from a different room in the same house, in your holiday home or anywhere you have Internet.



I dont have a router only a PPPoE modem. Can I install the transmitter without a router?

The transmitter has built in PPPoE protocol, so you can enter the ID and password provided by your Internet provider and connect without using a router.



The internet connection in the country where I live is very bad so realtime TV does not work very well. Do you have any solution for this?

Yes, you can schedule the recording of your favourite programs and then you can download the recording to your PC with up to DVD (720x480) quality.



I am going to contract internet at home for the trasmitter. Which connection method is better (fiber, ADSL, etc.)?

The key to get the best quality is the guaranteed upload speed. It is important to check this as many internet providers only advertise download speeds and upload speed may be much lower.



The internet speed is fast in my home country where the transmitter will be installed but the download speed in the country I want to connect from is not very good, at best it gets to 200kbps.

With 100ー200kbps, If you watch on a small screen like a smartphone it may be OK, but for a bigger screen the image quality will not be good.



I plan to install the transmitter at my brother's home. Do I need a separate Internet connection for the transmitter will it interfere with my brother browsing Internet?

You do not need a separate Internet connection. Just plug the transmitter to a free plug in a router or a hub or use the wifi adapter. The transmitter only usese upload bandwith, but your brother probably is only using donwload bandwith when he is browsing the Internet so it will not interfere in any way.



I have a Sony hard disk recorder with tuner. Can I schedule and play recordings on the Sony recorder from abroad?

Yes, you can record and play recordings from anywhere using the virtual rimote*
* Note: most remote controllers are compatible but we have not tested all of them.



I plan to use the same tuner my parents have connected to their TV. Will I see the same channels?

If you are both using the same tuner you will see the same channels.



If I record to a USB memory plugged to the transmitter where can I see this recordings from?

Playing recorded files on the transmitter is available on the applications for PC/iOS/Android.



I guess the transmitter and player are connected to a central server to verify ID and password. Does the video signal also go through the server? What happens if the server is down?

The server is used only to start the connection, the video signal goes straight from the transmitter to the device you are connecting from. If the server goes down, you can still connect using the PC and smartphone applications. To connect without using our server you will have to find out the WAN IP of the router the transmitter is connected to.



I am planning to purchase a new PC, does it need to have an integrated TV tuner?

To connect to our net-TV transmitter you only need Internet and the free player software we provide. You do not need a TV tuner on your PC.



Can I record?

the net-tv transmitter has a USB connector where you can plug a USB memory. You can use the USB memory to shcedule recordings. If you are using the PC player, there is an option to instantly record on your PC hard disk the program you are watching.

If you want to record from a camera or other static video source there are no issues, but if you want to select a certain channel on your tuner, the schedule system only works with channels between 1-9. If the channel you want to record is set on a different number, you can re-program the channel to any number between 1-0.

The USB memory must be formatted to FAT32 system and should be USB 2.0 only (USB 3.0 probably wont work).

We are planning to update the firmware to be able to record any channel, but we can not give a date yet. If you use a tuner with HDD recorder (instead of the net-tv built in recording system), you can record any channel and use it normally as if you where at home



Is there any monthly fee I need to pay to use the net-TV transmitter

We do not charge any monthly fee.



This may be impossible, but I want to be able to connect from two devices at the same time (smartphone and PC player) using only one transmitter.

With our net-TV is possible. It has two video and audio inputs, so if you connect a video source to both inputs you will be able to connect and watch from two different devices at the same time.



Do you offer a hosting service for your transmitter.

We do not offer this service.



I do not want to use a PC or smartphone to watch the TV. Is there anyway to watch directly on my TV?

To do this we recommend you use our net-TV receiver. It is very easy to set up, just connect to the Internet and your TV and comes with a remote controller so that you can use control everything from your sofa.



What type of recordings can I do if I plug a USB memory to the net-TV receiver?

You can do instant recording using the instant record button on the provided remote controller. Schedule recording is not supported on the receiver.

I can not connect to my net-TV transmitter I get the message:The connected video device is offline/port forwarding failed.

1. Try to connect from another PC or mobile device and try to connect using a different Internet connection (i.e. friends place). If it works using a different device, then the problem is not with the soushinki but with the device. If it works when you connect from a different location, you may have a problem with your router or Internet Provider.

2. If you replaced your router or if you changed the settings on your router you will need to do the set up again.

Sometimes routers may freeze, please unplug the router, other network devices (if any) and the transmitter. Plug everything back but wait a couple of minutes before plugging the transmitter.

3. After plugging the transmitter it may take 2-3 minutes until the connection is completed.

4. If NET lamp is off, this means that it is not connected to the network, please make sure it is connected.

4. If NET lamp is red, it means that you can only connect inside your local network and port forwardings failed. If you want to watch outside the local network you need to enable UPnP on your router or forward the ports manually.

5. If NET lamp is red you can connect from anywhere in the world.



I get the message "no signal!"

0- The net-TV shoushinki has two inputs labeled AV and CAM. If you only conected one input (normally AV Input) and you get this message, make sure you have selected the right input on your player. Please check the manual to find out how to change the input using the player software or receiver box. 1- The tuner is off or there is no video input plugged to the transmitter.
2- If the tuner does not turn on, check the IR cable.
3- Sometimes the tuner may freeze. Please unplug the power cord and plug the power cord of your tuner.
* The physical remote that comes with the tuner, can only be used when you are in front of tuner.
When you are away, you will use the software remote or remote controller that comes with the receiver.



I can not use the software remote

1- Make sure you have programmed the remote. Please check page 89 of the manual for more information about remote controller programming. You can download some remote controller already programed from the download section.
2- Make sure that the IR cable is properly plugged to the transmitter and also it is facing the IR receiver on your tuner.
Move the LED cable along the tuner front until you can control the tuner, then you can use the double side tape (provided) to set it securely.
3- Try controlling from another PC or smartphone.
4- Make sure you are trying to control the right source (AV or CAM).
5- If you are using the receiver, please note that you can only control a video device plugged to AV input. 6- Remote controller response may be slow depending on the internet conditions. Please wait a few seconds since you press the button until the response.



USB Memory not recognized

When you plug a USB memory the USB led on the transmitter, USB lamp will turn red. If the transmitter can not recognize your USB memory, please make sure it is formatted with FAT32 and it is USB 2.0 (USB 3.0 will not work). If it does not work, please try a different USB memory model or brand.



USB WIFI adapter not recognized

Currently the transmitter only works with WIFI adapters based on Ralink 2571 chip. It will not work with other WIFI adapters. If your transmitter is far from the router, you can also use a PLC system or a WIFI converter.



When I plug the receiver to the TV I only get a blue screen

This means the the receiver is powered off. Please use the remote controller to turn the receiver on.

Functions of the remote controller.

The remote controller of the reciver has two functions.

1) control the receiver itself.
2) IR mode, to control the tuner plugged to the transmitter.

Pres [0] 3 times to switch between both functions.

Even if you switch to IR mode, the arrow keys CH+ CH- VOL+ VOL - will not change its function. So if you need to use the arrow keys of your tuner with the receiver's remote you should program them some other place. You can use any of the other buttons as arrow keys.

The PC/MAC player is acting strange.

Please close the application and open it again.

If your PC has very low specs and you have many other applications running in the background try closing those applications or rebooting the PC.

The mobile player application is acting strange.

If any of the solutions bellow work, you do not need to continue applying the other solutions.

1- Completely close the application (not just pressing the home button).
2- Close other applications.
3- Reboot the phone.
4- Uninstall and re-install the applications.
